I am a consultant in upper GI surgery. I completed specialist training in general and upper GI surgery in the London Deanery in 2020. I then undertook 2 fellowships – one in trauma surgery (Vancouver/Cape Town), and one in upper GI surgery (UHCW, Coventry). I have now started my first consultant post.
I possess a broad range of skills, having undertaken core training in a variety of specialties, including military trauma, cardiothoracic and plastic surgery. I have a strong interest in teaching, and was awarded a prize for my contribution to undergraduate education. I have ATLS instructor status, and am a regular faculty member of the ‘START Surgery’ course run by the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
I am also keen to become an effective clinical leader and manager. I completed a Master’s in Business and Administration with Warwick Business School and was awarded a merit in this. I am always engaged in academic surgery, having completed an MSc in Stem Cells & Regenerative medicine; and I was awarded a travelling fellowship to research applications of telemedicine.
Outside of the hospital, I enjoy writing fiction and non-fiction, and recently began medical content writing and editing.
